The Music Icon Embraces a Hell Version of Herself in Mockumentary Teaser

Charli XCX is preparing for a significant cinematic onslaught in 2026, starting with the fictional documentary titled The Moment.

Throughout the movie, Charli portrays what she describes as a hell version of herself.

It’s the realest depiction of the music business that I’ve ever encountered, Charli commented.

She clarified in an interview: It’s not a tour documentary, but the idea came from the expectation to produce one.

A Sneak Peek into The Film

The debut trailer, released on recently, combines authentic footage from her recent tour with imagined backstage scenes.

The film is overseen and co-authored by her collaborator, who explained that the narrative centers on a world where the artist made entirely different choices during the publicity of her smash hit album Brat.

A Busy Movie Lineup

The mockumentary is a single one of several forthcoming movie projects for the musician, who recently featured in three festival films in the current year.

She also took on her own role in the humorous show Overcompensating.

She recently joined to appear in Dakota Johnson’s first film as director A Tree in Blue.

I’m deeply appreciating my foray into acting, Charli stated. I’m incredibly motivated currently in that field, and I only ever choose to take on things that inspire me.

Soundtrack Involvement

February will also include the launch of the director’s version of Wuthering Heights, which will showcase original songs from the artist.

Additionally, she will create the soundtrack for the drama Mother Mary, starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, set to be released in the coming year.

The mockumentary is set to premiere on 30 January.
