Skydance Paramount Plans to Cut Around 2,000 United States Roles – Update

Paramount Skydance plans to initiate significant workforce reductions beginning on 27 October, eliminating about 2,000 US jobs under a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn under top executive David Ellison.

The workforce reduction follow the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed in August worth $8.4bn.

More international job cuts are anticipated, with Paramount Skydance intending to announce complete information via its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.

Earlier reports had indicated that Paramount aimed to reduce from 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by early November.

Until December 2024, Paramount had about 18,600 permanent and temporary staff along with 3,500 project-based staff.

The company did not immediately respond on the matter.
