In the final seconds, sheer ecstasy broke out for Chelsea and caretaker boss Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández forced home a dramatic equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola howling at the heavens and handed the temporary Chelsea manager a career-defining moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane could be billed as the Premier League's greatest managerial mismatch, making the memory of Fernández's pivotal intervention one to warm the 40-year-old in his dotage.

A Glaring Contrast in Experience

On the City bench stood the era's defining coach, a man with an unparalleled CV for elite clubs Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, overseeing his 1,012th match.
