British Airways is introducing complimentary high-speed in-flight wifi via satellite deal

Flyers on British Airways are set to use fast wifi in the air without charge due to a new deal from Elon Musk's communications provider.

No-cost plus Quick Internet Available to Everyone

The carrier revealed that the complimentary, “quick and reliable” connectivity provision from the satellite provider will be available for travelers flying economy, business, or first class starting the coming month.

Expanded Implementation Across Multiple Airlines

The umbrella firm of British Airways, IAG, announced it had finalized an partnership with Starlink for providing internet access for 500-plus jets operated by its airlines, such as the Irish airline, the Spanish carrier, and the low-cost airline.

Seamless Wifi from Gate through Landing

The airline explained that this implementation for the technology formed part of a £7bn “transformation” initiative and would deliver uninterrupted internet service to passengers starting at the gate through arrival, even when in flight over seas and remote regions.
